RACKS

EPI racks are available in 42U and 47U internal heights, 600mm and 800mm widths, and 1000mm and 1200mm depths. Finished in RAL 9005 (black) the racks are available with curved or flat front doors which have a 82% open vented mesh.

Rear doors are flat with a split opening and also employ a 82% open vented mesh. The 800mm wide racks are commonly used for network communications purposes and include integrated vertical cable management channels on each side.

Available both with and without side panels, the racks are rated at 1000kg static load and are suitable for all server, storage and networking applications.

COLD AISLE CONTAINMENT

EPI’s aisle containment enclosure system has been designed to minimise hot spots and overcome the traditional problems associated with enclosed aisle systems such as poor lighting and ineffective fire suppression.

1200mm wide roof panels are used to bridge rows of racks. The roof panels (which can be 600mm or 800mm wide) include a raised centre section to minimise airflow eddies and improve server cooling, and integrated side toughened glass panels and central high efficiency white LED lights. These overcome the dark enclosed aisle conditions that are common with many designs.

The end of aisle toughened glazed doors each 700mm x 2135mm and use servo assisted opening and closing. Aisle doors are normally operated by proximity sensor, but for higher security external access are controlled by keypad or access card.

The door servo mechanism may be linked to the room fire detection system so that in the event of fire the doors are automatically opened allowing the room fire suppression system to reach the servers without the risk of stressing server cooling fans. The door servo mechanism includes integrated rechargeable battery backup, so in the event of utility power failure the doors can be programmed to open automatically.
