16A to 32A Adapter

The 16A to 32A adapter allows any single-phase equipment which uses IEC309 16A plugs to be connected to an IEC309 32A socket.

The adapter caters for up to two 16A connections to one 32A supply, and protects the 16A circuits from overload through the use of dual thermal breakers housed in a central junction box.

The adapter can be used to power any 16A load, but is ideally suited for connection to computer room equipment racks, where the adapter is typically under-floor mounted.

Product Details

This product allows two IEC309 16A (commando) plugs to be connected to a single IEC309 32A (commando) socket. It is ideally suited for use in computer rooms which only have 32A power distribution circuits, and the adapter is typically installed under floor in these circumstances.

The product consists of two IEC309 16A sockets and one IEC309 32A plug connected by 20cm leads to a central junction box. The junction box houses three power status indicator lights and two 16A thermal circuit breakers which protect the dual 16A feeds from overload, and can be reset through the use of push buttons. There is no facility to manually trip the circuit breakers and they therefore can not accidentally be tripped (for example by a snagging under floor cable).
