Aston Martin Lagonda
EPI Service are proud to be associated with Aston Martin Lagonda following our design and construction of their prestige new, secure and resilient Modular Data Centre (MDC) at Aston Martin's Midland headquarters.

Brief
Following Aston Martin gaining independance from Ford Motor Company in 2007, there was a very urgent need to upgrade and consolidate 'legacy' IT facilities, ensuring high availability, 'zero fault' processing for the new lean and highly focussed business.
EPI worked closely with Aston Martin Lagonda specialists and consultants in creating a self contained secure and resilient IT suite, providing, protecting and enhancing Aston Martin Lagonda Group IT processing, now and during the next 5 years.
Specification
This case study is a general outline only due to client confidentiality.
The selected location having been cleared and prepared, all necessary H & S and CDM functions were agreed and registered.
A fire retardant steel walled module, of 250 sq. metre footprint, was built incorporating the main computer room and a fully integrated utility room.
The computer room was designed to accommodate over 24 matching server and communications racks, being pre-wired for clean power and data capacity.
Nearby, a utility room was built to house the paralleled UPS that provide power resilience, enabling Aston Martin Lagonda to achieve high efficiency ‘no break’ processing.
The 19” rack cabinet design was based upon a ‘cold aisle containment’ design and consequently allowed a much improved rack equipment density.
The state of the art facility has FM200 fire suppression and benefits from a VESDA detection system enabling almost immediate reaction to smoke risk situations.
As with most such fully professional MDC installations, Aston Martin also specified a generator supply and our team constructed all necessary heavy duty ground works and reinforced slab to accommodate a generator and air conditioning condensers.
EPI Service respect the environment and took all possible steps to protect existing shrubbery and hedges during construction works and have subsequently enhanced ground cover near the site with additional landscaped planting.
By selecting EPI Service as their partner for the entire MDC project, Aston Martin Lagonda have achieved yet another milestone in their companies growth, as together, we have created a modern and resiliant IT facility, a stable platform for their corporate processing needs well into the future.
