Load Bank Testing

Using a Load Bank at the commissioning stage as well as part of preventative maintenance inspections for Generator, UPS and battery systems will help provide confidence in the integrity of the power support infrastructure. Most generator and UPS systems are installed as emergency standby systems and seldom run under load conditions. In the event of a power outage or electrical problem that necessitates use of your backup system you want to be confident that the backup system will operate and run at 100% efficiency. To avoid complete failure of your backup emergency power system, periodic load bank testing at 100% load should be carried out to ensure complete system reliability and peace of mind. Anything less than 100% load testing may not highlight a potential problem that will result in a failure of the backup system when it's needed most.

EPI can provide a comprehensive testing and diagnostic plan designed to ensure your UPS and Generator systems will work at peak efficiency and provide confirmation of system integrity and the ability to effectively support 100% of rated load in Normal Operation. Load bank testing is an ideal way of discovering whether all the components of the system will work together and performs as intended if called upon to support a critical load.

Technical Features

• Delivery of portable air-cooled load bank and temporary cables for connection to the supply.
• Up to Four hour full load test and a series of varying load steps on the Power Generation system
• Measure and record every 5 minutes for the duration of the test: voltage, Current, kVA, kW, power factor and Frequency.
• Load Bank Test Service report will be provided to the customer upon completion of service.
